Confessions of an Orange County Family Portrait Photographer | Sometimes, I Like to do It in the Parking Lot

Orange County | Tustin | Newport Beach | Family Portrait Photographer

Marc Weisberg Studio | I am a Orange County family portrait photographer. I LOVE photographing family portraits!

A Family Portrait Photographer with a Real Studio Space, Lots of Parking and Easy Access 5, 55, and the 405 Freeways.

I’m one of the few family portrait photographers in Orange County that has a store front photography studio with a groovy family portrait shooting cove, a changing room, with stylish comfy couches, a fully appointed bathroom, lots of parking and easy access to the 55, 5 and 405 freeways. I love photographing family portraits outdoors in natural light but that’s not always practical. Especially during the winter months when the sun sets between 4:30 and 5pm (the kids get out of school at 3pm and there just isn’t enough time to get them ready for your family portrait session). And with all the rain we’ve gotten this month its darn near impossible to schedule an outdoor family session lately. These days families lead busy lives and it not always practical to do an outdoor family portrait photography session.

The cool thing about photographing your family at our studio is it doesn’t matter what the weather is like or when the sun sets. And with kids going to soccer games, playing lacrosse, water polo, baseball and basketball, we can work around your families schedule to find a convenient time that works for everyone.

Below: Studio portraits of two different families. I recently had the couch custom made specifically for family portraits. The reverse “S” curve back is great for kids to sit on and the gently curving arms add a nice visual to the portraits. The arms also have extra padding for family members to sit on when I’m arranging larger groupings as you’ll see further down in the post.

Whether I’m creating family portraits in the studio, on location or outdoors I always follow 2 Golden Rules.
(1) Have fun!
(2) Choose the best background and create or find the most flattering light.

For any type of studio family portrait photography CREATE amazing flattering light.

P.S. My wife Connie doesn’t have a sweet tooth. She can live without sweets. My confession is that I have a HUGE sweet tooth. I love pastries. Really yummy ones. One of my favorite indulgences is Cream Pan on El Camino Real (between Main and Newport Blvd. in Old Town Tustin. Its a Japanese owned bakery and they make their own pastries every morning before the sun rises. The Cream Pan’s pastires the closet I’ve gotten to having real French Parisian pastries in Orange County. They are filled with yummy sweet butter and taste incredible. This morning I had an apple turnover with a flaky golden egg washed puff pastry crust. The apples were perfectly cooked and melted sweetly in my mouth. I washed down each bit with a Cafe Latte. With each bite I took my mouth exploded with ripe, sweet, apple and butter flavors.
