1 on 1 Mentoring
Work with Marc to expand your photographic knowledge and skills, and to refine your photographic personality. Marc will champion your work, guiding and supporting your dreams and aspirations as a photographer. A mentorship is often goal-oriented; from photography basics to developing a marketing plan that will generate dollars, to exhibiting in a gallery, printing in a magazine, publishing your book, building a stronger portfolio, developing a business plan to start your photography career, or simply creating a memorable portfolio of personal images under the watchful eye of someone that “has been there.”
Marc is a people person and technically adept at his craft. From crafting photographs with natural or manufactured light, to creating engaging portraits, posing, studio lighting, digital post production and mentoring photographers on all aspects of the business of photography. With more than 12 years of professional photography experience, Marc has spoken to and mentored many photographers – all passionate about their craft but frustrated with certain technical elements or simply wanting to take the next step in branding and growing their photography business. Whether the issues are shooting in natural light, posing, pricing, marketing, or even booking, Marc began to see a pattern emerge in those around him: plenty of passion, not enough productivity or technical expertise. Marc’s One on One Mentoring programs are the perfect way to increase your photographic skills, spark your creativity or redesign your business brand from the ground up.
Photographers kept asking me: “What’s your secret to running a productive photography business? It forced me to take a hard look at my businesses to determine what I was doing right. How did I manage to avoid such common pitfalls? In doing this I realized that I have learned a number of things along the way that would be helpful to my friends and colleagues. That’s why I have decided to begin offering mentoring sessions. Do I claim to know it all? No. But I sure do think I can help.”
How 1 on 1 Mentoring Sessions are Structured
Mentoring sessions are goal based. In an attempt to meet the needs of every mentee, there will be two segments to the One on One Mentoring.
Segment 1 ~ Assessment: A phone consultation and questionnaire covers all the important hurdles or obstacles that are impeding growth, productivity and fulfillment in your photography career or endeavors. Defining what’s blocking your success is mandatory prior to attendance so that Marc can review and asses your strengths.
Segment 2 ~ Gaol Based Learning: This is the bulk of the mentoring and is designed to help you reach your personal goals by applying focused approaches to achieve real world results. Your mentoring is the prefect balance of classroom learning and hands on learning through practical application and Q&A. Sessions are long enough to fill your head with a world of new ideas and inspiration without rushing or making your feel overwhelmed.
Some of the most popular topics concentrated on by past mentor participants include: Client Interaction, Creating a Strategic Price List, Marketing, Branding, Running A Business, Finding an Artistic Voice, Shooting Techniques, Submitting Your Work, Camera & Lighting Technique, Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Post-Processing, Editing Techniques, Social Networking, Marketing, Client Relations, Portfolio And Website Critique, Financial Organization, Branding Or Re-Branding, Maximizing Your Workflow, Album Design, Build Your Portfolio with A Professional Styled Shoot.
