The Headshot System
September 15th & 16th  ·  Irvine, CA

The Headshot System

The Standard Behind High-Earning Photographers.

Only six seats remaining.

If you shoot weddings, portraits, or real estate, your next revenue stream is already in your contact list. This workshop shows you how to unlock it.

Systems-Based
The Methodology
Master a systematic approach to every shoot. From lighting setup to posing and expression cues. You'll leave with a reliable process that produces predictable, professional results, session after session.
Craft First.
Revenue Follows.
The Standard
High-end clients and premium brands are selling their credibility, expertise, and professional image. When your headshots are consistently polished and professional, you become the photographer whose work matches the value of what they're selling — and that's what commands higher rates.
Intentionally Small
Limited to 10 Seats
Capped at 10 photographers so every participant receives hands-on instruction, real-time correction, and a repeatable process for producing saleable work that grows their revenue.

The gap between your work and your rates
is a system issue. We fix that.

This workshop may not be the right fit if you are earlier in your journey.
This Is Not For You If
You are still learning exposure fundamentals
You want styled model portfolio content
You want shortcuts or gear recommendations
Marketing is your priority over craft

and start increasing your value and revenue.

The Program
Curriculum Overview
Day One
The Workshop
September 15, 2026  ·  10:30 AM – 6:00 PM  ·  Irvine, CA
Limited to 10 photographers. Morning coffee, bagels and donuts. Catered lunch on premises.
Leave with a repeatable system that produces polished, professional headshots consistent enough to attract high-end clients and premium brands.
The Problem
Most photographers shooting headshots are improvising, adjusting on the fly, hoping the light cooperates, and guessing at direction when a client goes flat. The results are unpredictable. The workflow is stressful. And the inconsistency from shoot to shoot makes it impossible to build on what's working.
The gap between good and remarkable is a repeatable system that yields consistently exceptional results.
The Solution
The course teaches every element, including lighting, direction, posing, expression, and on-set workflow, as part of a cohesive, repeatable process that you can own, replicate, and confidently apply to every shoot for every client, regardless of the conditions.
What We Cover
Deliberate strobe metering building the look intentionally, not reactively
Modifier placement and light shaping for a clean, modern aesthetic
Controlling contrast and shadow with purpose
Direction language and micro-expression control that gets authentic results
Client workflow start to finish setting them up so you can do your best work
Delivery standards and professional expectations
Consistency across skin tones and throughout every shoot
Efficient, professional on-set workflow
Understanding what your camera is truly capable of 97% in-camera
Positioning your work to attract corporate clients, executives, and premium brands
"You will leave with a repeatable system you can deploy immediately and start increasing your value and revenue."
Day Two
Retouching & Portfolio Calibration
September 16th, 2026  ·  11:00 AM – 5:00 PM  ·  Irvine, CA
Limited to 8 photographers. Morning coffee, bagels and donuts. Catered lunch on premises.
This is not a Photoshop tutorial. This is refinement. Available only in combination with Day One.
The Problem
Most photographers know their retouching is off, they just can't pinpoint where. It's easy to push the retouching too far. Skin loses texture, edits get inconsistent, and suddenly the work feels over-processed rather than polished. Without a cohesive system in place, consistency is impossible. And consistency is everything — it's what allows you to show up for a client a month or a year later and deliver the same quality work, shoot after shoot, without reinventing the process.
Proper post-production separates good work from premium work. A portfolio without cohesion is a ceiling on your revenue.
The Process
Working collaboratively through your actual images, we'll identify exactly what's pulling your work down and put a cohesive system in place that creates consistency at every stage: capture decisions, retouching standards, image selection, and file delivery. Not a one time fix. A process you own.
What We Cover
How to create digital composites of team members
Effortlessly achieve flawless, realistic digital background swaps
Professional retouching standards, and where most photographers cross the line
Subtle skin work that holds up at full size without a plastic finish
Color accuracy and tonal consistency across an entire shoot
Image selection identifying the weak pulls that undermine strong work
File delivery standards your clients can actually use
Editing for authority and cohesion across your entire portfolio
Individual Portfolio Review
Every attendee brings their work. We go through it together — collaborative, specific, and honest. You'll leave knowing exactly where your portfolio stands, what to cut, and what a consistent body of work actually looks like. This is refinement. This is the work that separates a portfolio from a body of work.

The photographers commanding premium rates
are not working harder.
They are working with a better system.

About Marc Weisberg

Marc Weisberg is a Southern California based headshot photographer with over 26 years of professional experience serving attorneys, doctors, executives, entrepreneurs, realtors, writers, and artists, professionals who depend on their image to communicate authority and trust.

His work is defined by consistency, built on a refined strobe lighting system, disciplined light metering, and a highly developed direction language designed to draw out confident, authentic expressions from non-model professionals.

Marc operates from a systems-based methodology built to produce consistent, repeatable results. It is a framework that can be learned, applied, and refined session after session, not a collection of lucky shots.

In this workshop, Marc reveals his complete lighting and client direction system: calibrated strobe metering, intentional modifier placement, and a relaxed posing and expression framework grounded in client psychology. The objective is controlled, intentional capture, achieving 97% of the final image in camera, with the remaining 3% refined in post.

This is not about accidental results. It is about building a disciplined, repeatable system that defines the look and consistency of your entire body of work.

  • 26 years serving attorneys, executives, doctors, and corporate clients

"I hate pictures, no selfies, barely any social media, and a 12-year-old headshot. Marc immediately put me at ease, positioning me through micro-movements and directing my expression. He put me in my comfort zone so much so that I was barefoot and laughing. Don't wait 12 years like me — Marc is a visual branding expert who brings everything to life."

~ Anica McKesey, Insurance Professional

~ Nick Gotmere, CEO

"We have worked with Marc on several occasions. The outcome of the photos is second to none. But more impressive is his patience and care as he works with each individual. There is no sense of hurry. He is compassionate towards his subjects and it brings a great sense of ease, especially when you are uncomfortable having your picture taken."

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the workshop take place?

The workshop is held in Irvine, California. The exact address, parking details, and any additional logistics are shared with all registered attendees after enrollment.

How do I know if I should reserve or book a call first?

If you are confident you are a fit based on the experience requirements listed above, go ahead and reserve your seat. If you are unsure whether your current skill level is the right match, book the free 10-minute call first. After enrollment, every attendee has a brief 15 minute call to confirm goals and experience regardless.

What equipment do I need?

Day 1: A professional digital camera capable of manual exposure and off-camera flash control, and a 50 to 85mm lens or similar. Day 2: A laptop, SD or CF card reader, and an extension cord. You will not need to bring your camera gear on Day 2.

Is this beginner-friendly?

No. You should already understand exposure fundamentals and flash and strobe basics. This workshop is designed for working photographers who want to refine and systematize what they already know, not learn the basics from scratch.

Will we photograph live subjects?

Yes. This is a practical, hands-on workshop, not a content-building event. You will be working with real subjects in real conditions throughout the day.

Is marketing covered?

Yes — and here's the distinction. Marketing could fill an entire day on its own. This workshop is craft-first. When your work is consistently at the level clients pay premium rates for, marketing becomes far easier. Revenue follows craft.

Do I need to attend Day 1 to attend Day 2?

Yes. Day 2 is an add-on designed exclusively for Day 1 attendees. The retouching and portfolio calibration session builds directly on the shooting workflow covered on Day 1.

What is the refund policy?

A refund is available up to 30 days before the workshop minus any fees associated with Square's refund policy. Cancellations after that point are not eligible for a refund, though a credit toward a future workshop may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
