Part 1: December is road trip time for us. Connie and I decided to spend a few days in Palm Springs {only a two hour drive from the O.C.} instead of driving up to Cambria {our regular get-a-way} this year for our anniversary. We had perfect weather, great food and got an amazing rate at the Colony Palms Hotel. We found this boutique hotel on Hotels Tonight but dealt with the desk for our rate. The hotel is meticulous and the service is top notch. A fabulous spot with a huge heated, saline pool and comfy cabanas for lounging in. With camera in hand for the time we were there I love being a Palm Springs Editorial & Travel Photographer.

Because Connie and I are foodie adventurers here a quick list of places that we really enjoyed:
Cheeky’s: Really Good Breakfast – menu changes weekly. Lunch was so, so. The place smells awesome like butter, cinnamon and sugar. They bake on premises.
Elmer’s: Diner style. Excellent food, good service, very reasonably priced.
El Jefe at the Sugaro Hotel: We visited on Taco Tuesday. Exceptional tacos for a couple bucks each. Great beer and large Tequila selection. Reasonably prices. Friendly and prompt service. Just off the hotel lobby.
Kings Highway at the Ace Hotel: Excellent Breakfast. Stupid expensive. Wonderfully cool bar and updated Denny’s diner.
Recommendations: Delicious Ricotta pancakes and Bagel with House Smoked Salmon.
Tinto at the Sugaro Hotel: Delicious Tapas. Great Sangria and beer selections excellent service. We sat at the bar and Christian took fantastic care of us.
