Biltmore Hotel Wedding Photography
Destination Wedding | Los Angeles Biltmore
This past weekend Molly, Connie and I headed up North to photograph Cindy and Erik’s fabulous Biltmore Hotel Wedding in Los Angeles. I hadn’t had a chance to meet either the bride or groom as they’d commissioned me from out of state. Cindy and Erik are both doing their residencies as doctores in different states. She in Boston and he in New York City. This was a very special Biltmore Hotel Wedding in many ways: 1 – There is no wedding party and much more European in flavor, and 2 – Recently Cindy’s father passed away and 3 – Because of their health, Erik’s parent’s were not able to make the trip from Europe. However, his two brothers flew in from Switzerland and Copenhagen to attend their wedding at the Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel and then to tour Los Angeles for a few days. Cindy’s Mom, her sister Candice (who will be getting hitched in Beverly Hills at the end of this month) was there with her two aunts and grandmother. And Cindy’s uncle Mr. Kim flew in from Korea to walk her down the isle. Everyone was incredible civilized and warm, and relaxed and smiling the entire day.
We started out their Biltmore Hotel Wedding photography in a suite on the top floor and then moved to the main lobby for Cindy and Erik’s reveal. Cindy as you’ll see is beyond radiant and Erik with his Nordic and Viking features…well let’s just say that together they make a striking couple. After their reveal we started some relaxed family portraits. At about 4:30 pm a white ’62 Rolls Royce from Classic Limos picked them up and whisked them off to Woodland Hills Christian Church for their ceremony.

After their Woodland Hills Christian Church ceremony we headed over to Cindy’s alma-matter UCLA for their wedding photography session. Then zig zagged through heavy LA traffic back to the Biltmore Hotel for an amazing reception in the Gold Room where the soothing sounds of the Bob Gail Orchestra (supervised by Mr. Eric Pincus – a dead ringer for Jerry Seinfeld.) mingled with the scent of a thousand roses and the golden glow of tapered candles and amber lights. You’ll notice that their center pieces are works of art…courtesy of Shirvan Design. In eight years of photographing weddings, I’ve never seen anything that compares to these glorious centerpieces.
The most important thing to Cindy was that she have wonderful wedding photographs of her and Erik because in her own words: “We don’t have any good photos of us together.”
I promised Cindy that I’d change all that for her.
Cindy and Erik….just wanted to take a moment to thank both of you for your trust and allowing me complete freedom to do what i do best on your wedding day. I had an amazing day with you and your families at the Biltmore Hotel and beyond. I realize that there are many family and friends who could not attend so I hope this will give them a feeling of being right there with you on your wedding day. Erik, I hope that your parents have internet access so that they can enjoy seeing your wedding images.
