Overview of  a Modern Designer Home in La Jolla
It’s an honor when the homeowner, an A-list designer, and inventor tells his broker to use Luxury Real Estate Image’s, Marc Weisberg to photograph his home. Â His 5,500 squares foot home that he designed himself had previously been photographed but not to his liking. Â He said that the previous photographer portrayed the space as cold and uninviting. Â When you’ve designed your own home and it lists for over $6m you have a vested interest and personal connection with it. Â You also want to make sure that it is photographed to showcase your efforts. The house is filled with an outstanding art collection, lots of daylight and custom furniture. Â Each room is large with hi ceilings yet the home has a warmth to it counterpoint with its modern look and feel. Â A few years ago I photographed another luxury real estate property for the same broker in La Jolla Cove, a $7.5m home with 180-degree views of the Pacific. Â With an assistant, we spent 9 hrs. photographing the home and an equal amount of time in post production and compositing. Â Although there is an abundance of daylight, shadow areas are opened up with additive lighting techniques. Â All images are captured on a Sony a7sii and a7rii, with a 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master lens and Canon 17mm f/3.5 Tilt Shift lens, with a Metabones IV adapter.
